Brandon Bernstein is a mystical sort of Jew interested in discovering the intersection between what was and what is, between Jewish wisdom and contemporary knowledge. He joined the Northwestern Hillel staff in July 2015. He once lived on the west coast, where he grew up in Palmdale, CA and studied Comparative Literature at the University of California, Berkeley. He once lived on the east coast, where he earned rabbinic ordination from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion’s New York campus and worked for a year at Rutgers Hillel. Now, he’s embracing the midwest for all the cold weather and exciting Jewish life it has to offer him. Brandon is always happy to talk about Judaism, comic books, music, and improv (separately, or any combination thereof).
