Israel Seminar with Michael Simon
Meets on a weekday TBD from 12-1:30pm, starting in early October.
Building on our wonderful experience with last year's Northwestern Israel Leadership Initiative, Hillel is offering a seminar for Northwestern students who are interested in exploring Israel beyond the crisis narrative and in forging a deeper personal understanding of the significance of Israel for Jewish life in the 21st century. Through the use of modern and ancient texts and other media, Hillel Executive Director Michael Simon will facilitate a weekly (or bi-weekly) discussion on topics including "Israel as a Jewish and Democratic State," "Power and Powerlessness," and "The Role of Israel in American Jewish Identity."
Please complete this brief application and submit it no later than Thursday, September 29, at 4:59 p.m.
