 / About Northwesten Hillel \

Since 1934, Fiedler Hillel at Northwestern University has been the foundation for Jewish life on campus.

As Northwestern greets its 169th class of students, Hillel is in its ninth decade of enriching Jewish life on campus.  Hillel has a rich and storied history here, but our mission remains timeless:  we work to inspire Jewish students to make a meaningful and enduring commitment to Jewish life so that they may enhance the Jewish community, the campus, and the world.

With our phenomenal student leaders, talented staff, supportive Board of Directors, and strong University and community partners, Hillel strives to serve as an exemplar for engaging Jewish young adults in what it means to be a Jewish citizen in a global society.

Northwestern Hillel is an initiative of the Jewish United Fund, supported by Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life.

Northwestern Hillel is a member of the Jewish Leadership Circle (JLC), which recognizes Jewish institutions for their commitments to support alternatives to factory farming — a root cause of injustice for humans, animals, and the environment. Our Hillel was awarded membership for committing to reduce the volume of animal products we serve by at least 20 percent.
