Sylvia Miller

Engagement Associate

Sylvia Miller (she/her) graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2024 with degrees in Political Science and Jewish Studies, along with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. During her time on campus, she was involved in Jewish life through various leadership roles and student organizations, which became a central part of her college experience and helped her build lasting friendships and community.

After graduating, Sylvia spent a year immersing herself in new cultures, working as an au pair in Spain and traveling throughout Asia. She has since returned to the Chicagoland area where she grew up, driven by a passion for fostering Jewish life and connection among young adults through campus engagement.

Having grown up attending Jewish summer camp, Sylvia developed a deep and lasting commitment to Jewish community. She’s now excited to support students at Northwestern University in this role. In her free time, she enjoys live music, playing ice hockey, biking, and reading.

Northwestern Hillel is an initiative of the Jewish United Fund, supported by Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life.

Northwestern Hillel is a member of the Jewish Leadership Circle (JLC), which recognizes Jewish institutions for their commitments to support alternatives to factory farming — a root cause of injustice for humans, animals, and the environment. Our Hillel was awarded membership for committing to reduce the volume of animal products we serve by at least 20 percent.
